If you Google “How To Make Money Blogging”, you’ll find free guides, paid courses and videos. Everyone has tips. And if you have a little extra time on your hands right now, this really could be a good time to follow your dream.
I’m not here to tell you how to make money. But I’ll certainly caution you against paying people to tell you how to do it. Yes, maybe some people are making good money doing it. But do you really think their method can work for everyone? If 100 or 10,000 people buy their course, and all of them do the same things, will they all make money?
NO, THEY WON’T!!!
Carve Out Your Own Space
Did the actual writer of these words hope to have his or her words attributed to the great wordsmith? Did that person actually just copy a style, thus leading to a false attribution?
The answer to that is actually irrelevant. But the message is clear:
If someone ‘owns’ a writing or business style, it’s theirs, not yours. Copy it, and you’re just trying to be them, rather than being yourself. Not everyone can be known for their own unique style. But those who successfully carve out their own space will always be more memorable than those who follow someone else into theirs.

I’ve written before about how important good English is. OK. You can get away with poor or non-existent punctuation in a text. But no decent blog will accept your guest posts if your sentences are difficult to follow.
Here’s The More Part…
STOP with the long, rambling sentences! Do you work hard reading blog articles? No? Well, guess what? Nobody else does, either! A 40+ word sentence is too much. A 40+ word sentence without punctuation is a guaranteed bounce – especially if it’s in the first paragraph.
Talking Of The First Paragraph
Strong openings are important for everything. Here are a few of those (every)things:
- Cover letters and resumes
- Social Media posts
- Videos
- Movies
- Music
- First dates
- Speeches
- Outreach emails (another pet peeve – another article)
And? And?
- Blog posts! Well, who’d’a thunk it, eh?
Well over half of the articles that are submitted to Curatti have really poor openings. A ridiculous percentage have trite openings. You wouldn’t believe how many start with things that everyone – and I mean EVERYONE! – has known as second nature since time immemorial.
I’m guessing you wouldn’t read an article that starts with “Social Media is really important”, so why the [expletive deleted] do you [expletive deleted] insist on [expletive deleted] writing such inane crap! You’re not unique! If you won’t read a certain thing, don’t [expletive deleted] write it! Is that really so [expletive deleted] difficult to grasp? No? Good! Now go prove it!!
