If you are ready to break into the eBook publishing arena for your business then you will want to read this article.
The opportunities are ripe for businesses to showcase their expertise, but the competition is fierce on Amazon. One of the best ways to stay on top and move toward best-seller status is to have a great marketing strategy in place. Without a solid foundation and roadmap your book sales will be next to nonexistent in the midst of millions of other published works.

You’ve worked hard on putting together a great book, and the goal for your business is to get it in front of as many readers as possible. With the right target market research and social media marketing you can be successful in eBook publishing.
Here are 5 Amazon Book Selling Tips that will help you to stand out from the rest:
● Showcase your work with an attractive landing page – You want your audience to know exactly what your business is about, and this all begins with a professional website that clearly focuses on your published or soon-to-be published eBook. This is the place to offer something of value such as a tip sheet, video, free chapter, ect. where you can capture their email for future updates. Here’s a great example from one of my clients, Diane O’Connell, Founder and Editorial Director of Write to Sell Your Book:
● Evaluate your current marketing strategy – Before your book launch take a look at your current online strategy on places like Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, and LinkedIn. How active is your business in each place? Do you need more focus and interactions with your community? Consider joining groups in your niche and start communicating with members. This not only helps establish credibility, but can grow your network. If you have a trusted and active following in social media then your book marketing efforts will become a lot less difficult to achieve. Always keep in the mind that this is a place to build relationships, and not sell directly. Once you have peeked your community’s interest they will refer back to your website and become loyal subscribers who can be nurtured in future emails for book sales.
● Tap into your current connections – Who do you know both online and offline that may have an interest in your eBook? Reach out to your friends, family, associates, ect. and let them know about your topic. Ask for feedback and encourage them to spread the news on their social networks. LinkedIn is especially a great place to create an InMail with a friendly announcement or feedback request.
● Post fresh, original content on your blog – As a business moving into the digital publishing arena you need to maintain an active and relevant blog on your website that appeals to the needs of your target market. By creating at least two articles a week you can build anticipation for your next release.
● Create a video or webinar before releasing your book – Once you have your marketing and blogging ducks in a row the next step is promotion before the publication arrives. Many authors use services like Animoto or Slideshare to put together a teaser or trailer, or information relating to the eBook. A free webinar is another great way to generate interest, which can be hosted on places like Google Plus, YouTube, Facebook, and now Twitter.
These are just a few key strategies to start with when publishing an eBook on Amazon that stands out from the rest of the competition in your business market. Other important factors include professional editing and proofreading and hiring a book cover designer. There are services available online that take care of this for you such as Createspace, Bookbaby, or free tools like Canva. Decide ahead of time what will work for your budget, and create something that will reflect well on the mission and branded image of your business.
Small steps and proper planning will lead up to successful digital publishing with the right strategies and tools in place.
