Using Calls to Action Effectively for Your Business

One of the most important aspects of brand building for your business is attracting loyal followers. A large component of this includes influence marketing, which is all about building relationships with influencers who in turn promote your company.

According the Wikipedia definition this simply means, “a form of marketing that has emerged from a variety of recent practices and studies, in which focus is placed on specific key individuals (or types of individual) rather than the target market as a whole. It identifies the individuals that have influence over potential buyers, and orients marketing activities around these influencers.”

A call to action or CTA is best implemented first by understanding your business’s target market, and what their greatest needs or pain points are. This should all come before your branding is developed in order to create something that will speak to your audience, and attract influencers who will help you spread the word about your company.

In order to grab people’s attention you can create a branded call-out message directly on your website, which can include a free report download, webinar, coupon, ect. When publishing content this might also be included at the end of your post depending on the topic.

How exactly does a strong call to action work effectively for businesses?

A well-defined instruction will prompt your audience to take a specific action in a compelling way, and guide them to the next step in a simple, yet clear manner. Let’s take a look at LeadPages for example, which offers a clear and specific CTA:

When done correctly your leads will start to engage with your content after they learn the benefits of taking the next step. Remember that your business is in the driver’s seat, and that you are leading them where you want them to go.

Your business will increase its chances of conversion from leads by adding multiple call to actions to your website’s pages and content with a main or direct CTA on your landing page. The use of bright colors and bold text will make this more appealing, and can even include logos or product images.

Once your business has created a branded call to action(s) the next important step is to track your progress. Google Analytics is a great tool for this, and allows you to see the action of each click. As you begin to understand what your audience is attracted to then you can tweak your strategy from there.

Sometimes it pays to hire a freelancer or company to develop a good CTA for your business. Resources like LeadPages and CTA Bar can also help with implementation for a small investment.

A strong call to action should be included at the very beginning of your business’s marketing strategy. By creating this first everything else will fall into place, and you will be one step ahead of the game by attracting leads to your website from the get-go.
